Over several decades, scientists conducted a study on 77,000 nurses in the United States to determine if diet had any impact on whether or not degenerative diseases developed later in life. The results of the study suggested overwhelmingly that those who had diets rich in fruits and vegetables had a significantly lower incidence of degenerative diseases such as heart disease and cancer.
