Everywhere that you find records of people and medicine, you'll find Aloe Vera. Dioscorides, a first-century Greek physician, used it in his practice. The Native Americans called it "Wand of Heaven", and Christopher Columbus referred to Aloe as "Doctor in a Pot". Alexander the Great actually conquered an island off the coast of Africa just to ensure he would have a supply of Aloe Vera to be used to heal the wounds of his soldiers.
